The plot isn't too bad either, with a couple of interesting twists along the way. There are also hidden items and characters amongst the battle field on certain battles, so even though you cant physically explore towns/the world map etc there are still optional and extra characters to obtain! The game simply leads you from one battle to the next the problem with this being it leaves no room for hidden characters or items, you simply take what it gives you. The story is great and, even though you lose some aspects of the original game, like exploring and finding new items around towns, the game battles are well planned and you can enjoy a nice role play strategic game. It was an excellent game to play and I recommend it to all role playing games fans good game by Nifsara on September 22, 2008 this shining force game is good for the series. for 2d map's the seam kind of flat but the combat is just a great as the other game's. the loss of the exploring game play is a miss but it's also great because you get right to combat ad don have to switch from battle thinking to exploring thinking.
