One of the best rpgs ever created. Chrono Trigger has a plot that is timeless and no matter how many times you have played or beaten the game, the characters will always steal your heart and immerse you into the storyline.

When i spent weeks and weeks to find a valid rom, i sprang with joy when i finally got one. But when i finally got to play it, i almost cried with how much i've missed over the years! This Game is so awesome, I'd even go as far as to say this game's awesomeness rivals that of Kibry Superstar, Legend Of zelda: a link to the past, and (Dare i say it) Super Mario World!!!

O.k, time to review.

This game has good graphics, but they're nothing compared to that of the attacks! I mean, the graphics when you're in the future are good ( I like how many buildings are destroyed, and the wind moves quite smoothly) but compare THAT to the graphics of the attack "Dark Matter" or "Dino Tail" Or Frog Squash" Or Lavos's Second form most powerful attack "Shadow Blaze Doom"and you'll see which one is better. I also should mentoin the Music, which has a LOT (and by a lot, i mean a lot) of memeroble tunes, Like The theme of magus, of the theme song of the whole game, or The Miniboss Theme, or Lavos's theme even! And the replay Value is ASTOUNDING, Because there are 13 F@*#ing Endings! You've heard me, and it's true, there are thirteen different endings! If i was the AVGN, i'd be a little pissed, Cause there's nothing he could find with this classic! I can't, so good luck!

I have played many RPGs, not all of them by any stretch but quite a few! Chrono trigger was among the first ones for me and will always remain my fave! With great snes graphics, clever techs and dbl/trpl, etc. I will never forget it, the music, the story, the multiple endings! even the little romance storyline! Anyhow if you're new to the rpg worl and want a taste download chrono trigger or buy it for your ds. Amazing!

Wow, how I've missed this game! Next to impossible to find for the SNES in cartridge form but, I have it for the PS1. Who could ever forget the *tick *tock *tick *tock of the start screen... or the great midi's through out the game, like Glenn's (Frog) or Magus's... or even the event of Glenn slashing open that mountain with the Mesamune! Awsome...

Oh, by the way... the ROM is defect free and totaly midi sound. A+ 10/10

This is one of Squaresofts best games for the SNES. Arguably one of the greastest rpgs ever made. A game good enough to get ported twice (the ps1 and DS). There was even a group for a while that was remaking a homebrew version of the game in 3D. But they got shut down with a C&D letter from square, too bad. The story is great, you can't help but love the characters, and its loaded with replay value.

The first time I played chrono trigger was when it first came out in japan. This was the Japanese version and even though I couldn't understand it I played it until I was stuck. This would probably be the best rpg game to ever come out and I still consider it to even rival the top rpg games today. I am curious why has squaresoft not create another game like this on similar combat engine. Chrono Cross was a totally different combat engine and did not make as much of an impact as Chrono Trigger. Don't pass this game by for anything worth every hour of game play!!

One of the first rpg's i ever played, first on playstation paired with Final Fantasy 2( or 4 depending on how you associate them). No matter how many times I play this game I always find something new to me that I never found before, either that or i play down a different story path and enjoy a pretty much different game every time. It doesn't matter who I ever talk to that has played this game they always ask if i have it so they could play it again, and I always try to get people that have not played it to get started. It just has such a bit impact on the way rpg's are rated today.
A great game that never seems to get boring. by malthus on November 17, 2008

After playing through this game more than 3 times, it never gets dull. Time traveling and tons of characters. You can also play the story line different throughout each time you play. This is one game that definitly compares with the final fantasy series. One of the best games of all time.

Chrono Trigger is a game that sends you traveling back and forth through time, trying to stop an impending future catastrophe that will plunge the world into chaos. It's a world exploration RPG after the style of Phantasy Star and Final Fantasy games.

While I wouldn't rank it as high as Final Fantasy III or maybe even Shadowrun due to more simplistic plot and dialogue, there is no denying its mass appeal. Using a time traveling device you will be able to change the future in visible ways, and will be accompanied by a host of different friends on your quest; a quest which will take you from prehistoric jungles to the ruined wastelands amid a destroyed technological landscape.
