Flying Disk Game by baloch4ever on September 23, 2008

Windjammers is a very cool Pong-esque game by Data East. The point of the game is to tally more points than your opponent by throwing the disc by him/her into the 3 or 5 point zones, or by throwing a disc that hits the ground on your opponents side of the court, which is worth 2 points. A round ends after 30 seconds or after a player scores 11 points. The rounds are best of three, but if you are tied after that, you go on to a sudden death/sustained life overtime, where the first point wins.
There are eight players to choose from, and eight playing surfaces to play on, ranging from grass to concrete. Besides throwing discs that curve in mid-flight, each player has his/her own special throw, which either eludes the opponent by spiraling about the court into a point zone, or by overpowering the opponent, sending the player into the point zone along with the disc.
After beating a few players, you’ll be awarded with a bonus round to rack up some points. These bonus rounds range from a distance toss to actually bowling a 10 frame game with your disc..
Windjammer’s graphics are great, especially in the special throws and player animations. This game is very playable and can be pretty addictive if given the chance.
Surprisingly, it's not a fighting game. And guess what, it's a lot funnier than many of the fighting games around. Remember the game called "Pong"? It's the first electronic game ever made on any system; well, WindJammers holds the spirit of the original game and raises it up to the Neo-Geo level. Now it's an extra-fun "flying-disc" game, with cool graphics (just what you would expect from a Neo-Geo game), cool sounds, and above all, extra-cool gameplay. There are some players to choose from, each one with its own abilities, and there are also some playing fields, each one with a special feature.
If you are tired of fighting guys, then relax and have some real kick-ass fun with this game! You'll get to love it!
