The game blew my mind away back then. It reminded me of Silvester Stallone in Rambo going around blowing everything up with his Machine gun. Thats pretty much how I would sum up the game. Enemies from the front and the back, top and bottom and unlimited ammo. Your job is to destroy everything in your path. It might be 2d with horrible graphics compared to today's standards, but it is still as entertaining and addictive when I first played this game. As Good as it Gets by The Lightning Stalker on November 5, 2008 Rating: 10/10      If you've never played Contra before, you're seriously missing out. As far as I'm concerned it's THE 2D platform shooter. The goal is to rid the world of the alien menace. Along the way you'll battle stationary guns, tanks, grenades, turrets, big bosses that shoot eyeballs at you and other various things. There are various different gun powerups such as a machine gun, spreadfire gun, and "L" which is like a machine gun on steroids and does some serious damage.
