For the story, the player doesn't have to be familiar with the Spawn comics to understand the basic idea, and it is a good story at that. The bosses of each level are all relatively equal in terms of difficulty (yes, even the first one)... that being said, the gamer doesn't have to worry about game over's. This game is a LITTLE too generous with the continues, even though this game would be near impossible without them.
