So Addicting! by EisHexe on July 20, 2009

I first played this game on the SNES many years ago as a kid. We had rented it from Blockbuster and I spent, literally, over 60 hours nonstop with no sleep in front of the TV to finish it before it had to be returned on Monday.

The premise of the game is quite simple: you play a farmer who starts on a rundown farm, and you have two years to turn things around and make the place profitable. You do this by cultivating crops and raising healthy chickens and cows. You eventually get a horse with saddlebags to help you harvest!

There's a neighboring town where you can pick up supplies, talk to people and court the eligible young ladies. Festivals are also held here. There's a winding mountain path chock full of secrets to be discovered and caves to be explored. There's also a hot spring for you to relax and rejuvenate in!

There's really so much to do it would take a ridiculous amount of time for me to type it all out here. Suffice to say that this game, simple as it is, is tons of fun, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to try something different that will completely devour their social life for a weekend.

This is one of the first games that me and a bud would sit around and play non-stop. This game is absolutely addicting the only downside I feel to this game and most harvest moon games is the time limit but I guess all good things must come to an end. And personally I feel this game is one of the hardest harvest moons with so little time to make choices you could miss out on a great festival and lose out on a great item. I recommend this game for at least a download try it i'm sure you will love it.

I've been a fan of Harvest Moon ever since I played it back on the N64 but with this it was great to see where it all started. I continue too buy the Harvest Moon Games and some day hope to own them all, not just by emulation but for years to come this will do. Definatley worth a download.
Addicting Time Killer by Intrepid237 on November 29, 2008

Harvest Moon isn't exactly what you would call, a game. It's more of a time killer. A strangely addicting time killer that is hard to put down. The centers around a boy who inherited a ranch and tries to take care of it. You can plow fields, take care of livestock, etc. There are only three areas in the entire game: your ranch, town (where you buy supplies), and the mountains.

The game simulates time by using day and night. There are 30 days in a month and 4 months in a year. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter respectively. Each day you can put milk, tomatoes, whatever into a bin which is collected and traded in for currency to buy more things to get more profit. That's pretty much the entire game. It's actually more addicting and fun that it sounds on paper. I played for hours when I first downloaded it. I recommend it for anyone who likes casual games occasionally.
