I do play a lot of these top down shooters and find them to be my favorte type of shooters. This one is nice it has decent graphics and the power ups are not too typical, as for every type of power up there is 4 levels to them, there's a spread gun, laser, and a tight gun with crazy missiles. Secondary weapon is a standard screen clearing bomb. My only quip was that it was really short, like only 6 levels.

I don't play a lot of these 'top down shooters', they tend to give me a headache but I figured I'd give Air Gallet a try for some reason - glad I did. It's a standard air force/plane, flying over some non-city somewhere. The power-ups are nice - several to 'choose from' as they change every few seconds - I like laser. What I like about this game is the fact that you can fly around enemy bullets. Most of these clones are just too hard, nay impossible, not to die and you end-up just feeding lives to get through the stage. Also, the audio is a nice touch, like you're in contact with a command center somewhere. The final thing is the background graphics. Tanks moved between buildings and trees, finding cover. Planes and choppers emerge from subterranean bunkers etc. etc. Gives a very 3-d feel. Look for the tower at the end of stage 2, very cool effect.
