Although it never saw big commercial success, \"River City Ransom\" has come to be a cult classic among NES games. The game is basicly a side scroller fighting game, but with RPG elements. You adventure through various gang teritories, collecting money from dispatched thugs. The money can then be used to buy new attacks, health, stat boosts, and various other things.
Graphics (10/10): River City Ransom has some fantastic graphics for an NES game. Everything flows smoothly, and is very visualy apealing. There so good, in fact, that I feel like I\'m playing Super Nintendo! RCR was ahead of its time indeed.
Controlls (10/10): The controlls are dead-on! In fact, I\'d call them perfect.
B Kicks, A Punches, and A+B Jumps. I havn\'t had one problem with the controlls in this game.
Gameplay (9/10): RCR isn\'t just another fighting game. It\'s healthy mix of RPG-style elements set it apart from the others. The stat-building aspects keep the game extremly entertaining. And aside from that, its fun as hell just walking around beating the snot out of people! There are, however, a couple of points in the game where i got stuck for a little while: some of the things arn\'t 100% self explanitory.

I Definatly recomend this game to any retro-gamer! It\'s probably my favorite NES game of all time. Every thing about it is just about perfect.
