One of the best of the Sonic Genesis Series. by gpuatu on June 23, 2009

Looking at all of the classic Sonic games, Sonic and Knuckles would have to be one of the best. Compared to the previous three sonic games, this one has the most improved graphics. Also, the music in this game is very good, probably only second to the first Sonic the Hedgehog. Another thing in the Sonic series that I have always seen is too many obstacles. But, in Sonic and Knuckles, the amount of obstacles are at minimum, giving you a more free environment.
A Game I Still Love Playing! by ssgtrock on May 7, 2009

When I was a kid, this and the rest of the sonic games I played the SHIT out of on my genesis. With a character that I loved playing and a villain that I loved defeating. And out of all the other games on the system, the sonic series they took great pride in. Making sure each one was spectacular in gameplay, music, and graphic quality. I recently bought Sonic\'s Ultimate Genesis Collection on my PS3 which includes not only this game, but all the Sonic titles from the Genesis. Just lets me relive a very good childhood memory!

This game never gets old.

Hopefully sega finds a way to return to what made this such a huge success. Their release of the Sonic Mega Collection reminded me how much of an impact this game had on my childhood, and as from other reviewers, brought back a flood of great memories.

A must have in any gamers collection.

This game was one of the best steps in the correct direction without any doubt. At the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic is seen falling as well as the Death Egg. Afterwards, the Death Egg seems to explode into nothing. S&K allowed you to explore into what was the Death Egg. With the option of playing as Sonic or Knuckles this time around, the game made sure you saw both sides of the story. Boasting a lock-on feature, S&K3 made an incredible story line and the addition of the super emeralds and the Master Emerald, there was no disappointment to this game. It is a must play, and I cannot recommend this game highly enough to anyone.

i can't believe how much playing these classics brings back memories of being young without a care in the world. I love the quality of this dl and the creativity that goes into creating the backdrops and characters is nice too. I suggest eveyone who enjoys classics to try this game. very fun!!!
Top Ten Genesis Game by sigalution on August 15, 2008
Having only a paper route to earn enough for about a game a year, I was selective in what game I got. This was one of the few.

Sonic and Knuckles solidified what everyone already understood as Sega's dedication to innovation. Not only was the game spectacular, but also had an extremely unique capability to throw a character who wasn't in a different game into the place of Sonic.

It's a simple game, but retains the classic nature of Sonic and remains fun after many years proving resilience to the test of time.

Not bad music either given what they were working with.
