I loved Zelda and even Landstalker but Sword of Vermillion did not have the story that games like this need. I also did not like the machanics it just felt like the same character throughout the game. All and all it was good to spend a couple of bucks on and spend a couple hours playing it.

This Really was one those unsung, unknown games that was just hours and hours of good fun. The combat system was unique. The story was too. And the graphics were definitely a step up for the time. Today, it still manages to entertain and keep me clicking and weaving with it's great combo of RPG and action game!

Definitely check it out.

This is the first game my bro. and I ever owned for the Genesis because it was the cheapest game they had at the store and we had almost spent all of our pooled $$ just to get the consol. Since it was the only game we had for a while we played it non-stop. It is very addictive, and though I don't think it's probably as good as Zelda, if you do like these type of games you will probably find yourself getting drawn in.
SEGA's Zelda??? by fishy009er on August 18, 2008
if u like the legend of zelda on nintendo, then u will love sword of vermillion. SoV is pretty much SEGA's attempt at making a game similar the that of nintendo's zelda series. and they did a bloody good job of it! with the added ability to do melee attacks aswel as sword attacks, this game is one of sega's lost golden games!!!

LOVE THIS AWESOME GAME!!!
