Similar to NBA Live! 95, but Different by sagdog on November 1, 2008
Coach K College Basketball has similar controls to NBA Live! 95, you control the player with the Direction pad, you pass with "B", Shoot with "C", and switch players with "A". The timing on assists are the same too, pass at the right moment and the closest player to the hoop, will give a spectacular goal.
The season play is the same also, you can choose how many games to play, tournaments, and even championship games too.
Coach K College Basketball then splits it's similarities with the play calling.
You can set your defense to change in the middle of the offense's drive, and stop them from getting into the paint, or you can call it with a preset number of plays before you "take out the ball". Of course like college basketball should be, only numbers are used to define the players, and not names, stressing team play and not the individual. The final and most rewarding change from the NBA Live! series is the breaking of the backboard. Coach K College Basketball allows certain players with a certain rating to break the backboard, but you have to make sure the defense gives you a gap to charge in with a dunk, and since good teams like Duke, and UCLA have good players it makes it hard to do it.
All in all it's a good game and a trainer for the NBA Live! fan, but it can also be a great game to play to bring your college team to the final four.
